meet aman

registered psychotherapist (qualifying), RP (qualifying)

My name is Aman, and I understand that our experiences are shaped not only by who we are as individuals, but also by our relationships, cultures, communities, and the systems we navigate. My approach to therapy is trauma-focused, culturally informed, and client-led. I believe that healing begins in a space where you feel seen, heard, and accepted without judgment, and I strive to create that environment for every person I work with.

I provide psychotherapy to adults and adolescents experiencing a range of concerns, including anxiety, chronic stress, trauma and complex trauma, body image concerns, self-esteem and self-worth challenges, identity exploration, and cultural or intergenerational conflicts. I also support individuals navigating life transitions, relationship challenges, and the emotional impact of leaving abusive relationships or living through experiences of violence and conflict.

I have extensive experience working with survivors of interpersonal and gender-based violence, supporting individuals as they process the impact of abuse, rebuild their sense of safety, and reconnect with themselves. I also work with first responders, frontline workers, and service providers experiencing vicarious trauma, compassion fatigue, burnout, and the emotional demands that often come with caring for others. Whether trauma stems from personal experiences or professional roles, I recognize the profound ways it can affect the mind, body, relationships, and sense of self.

My work is deeply informed by an understanding that trauma is not only remembered by the mind but is also carried within the body. I am particularly interested in how identity and our sense of self evolve in the years following trauma and complex trauma. Together, we can explore how past experiences continue to shape your present, while working toward healing, self-compassion, and a stronger connection to yourself.

As someone with lived experience of violence, I bring both professional knowledge and personal understanding of the complexities of healing. While every person's journey is unique, I recognize the courage it takes to seek support and the importance of having a therapist who approaches your story with compassion, curiosity, and respect.

Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, disconnected from yourself, struggling to find your place between different cultural expectations, navigating the lasting effects of trauma, or simply looking for a space to process life's challenges, I will work collaboratively with you to identify your goals and move at a pace that feels right for you.

I offer therapy in English, Hindi, Punjabi, and Urdu and welcome individuals from diverse cultural, religious, and social backgrounds. My practice is rooted in the belief that therapy should honour your lived experiences, your values, and your strengths, while empowering you to define what healing and growth look like for yourself. My hope is to offer a therapeutic relationship where you feel safe enough to be your authentic self, explore your experiences with curiosity rather than judgment, and move toward a life that feels more connected, grounded, and meaningful.
