meet dan

Hello, my name is Dan, and I’m grateful you’ve taken the time to get to know me. I’ve been working in the mental health field for over 12 years and have been a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) for the past 7. My journey began supporting youth, where I quickly recognized the growing need for mental health support. Over time, I expanded my practice to work with young adults, adults, couples, families, and first responders. Along the way, I’ve developed a genuine passion for helping others navigate life’s challenges, and I truly believe that everyone needs a shoulder to lean on at some point in their lives.

My educational background is rooted in psychology and mental health, including a Master’s in Counselling Psychology (M.A.), a Post-Graduate Certificate in Victimology, and a Bachelor’s degree in Forensic Psychology with a minor in Legal Studies (B.A. Hons).

In addition to my work as a psychotherapist, I’ve also served my community as a police constable for the past eight years. This role has given me unique insights into the impact of trauma, mental health struggles, and the importance of balance and resilience. Both careers share a common purpose for me—supporting people in meaningful and practical ways.

In my therapeutic work, I focus on building a strong, trusting relationship with clients so they feel safe, heard, and understood. Many people carry difficult histories that make it hard to be vulnerable, so I approach each session with empathy, active listening, and an awareness of both spoken and unspoken needs. My goal is always to provide a safe space where healing and growth feel possible.

Outside of work, my greatest joy is my family and my faith. I love spending time with my wife, our three children, and our family dog. When I can, I enjoy being out on the golf course (still perfecting my swing!) or unwinding at the cottage, where I can recharge in the quiet beauty of nature.
